A creative and proven leader in the field of education, Chapin Schnick accrued 10 years of art teaching experience, and more than 20 years of regular nonprofit volunteer service, before joining the team at the Indiana Arts Commission (IAC).
After aiding Charles L. Smith Elementary (MSD of Martinsville) in its 2016 transition to a Fine Arts Academy, Schnick was the inaugural InstaGrant recipient from the IAC, and the 2018 “Indiana Art Educator of the Year” from the Art Education Association of Indiana (or AEAI). In addition to a Masters degree in Art Education from the Maryland Institute College of Art, Schnick has Bachelors degrees from Purdue University, in both Art Education and Ceramics, with an Art History minor.
In the fall of 2018, she began assisting in grants and bookkeeping operations at the IAC, serving the Indiana artists and arts organizations she’d championed as an educator, while supporting the incredible vision of bringing arts everywhere, every day, for everyone in Indiana.
